  • OVH SAS, which hosts the website;
  • technical providers required to operate WordPress, WooCommerce, the audio player, security features, and analytics when enabled;
  • WooPayments (WooCommerce/Automattic), operated in partnership with Stripe, to process card and wallet payments, prevent fraud, manage refunds and arrange payouts;
  • the transactional email provider;
  • professional advisers, public authorities, or courts where required by law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

The list of active providers is kept up to date in this policy and, for tracking technologies, in the Cookie Policy and consent tool.

5. International data transfers

Some technical providers may process data outside the European Economic Area or the country where you live. Where required, Sound Highway will rely on an approved transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, together with supplementary safeguards where appropriate. Information about active providers and applicable transfer safeguards is kept up to date as the website configuration evolves.

6. How long we keep your data

  • Customer accounts: while the account is in use, followed by deletion or restricted archiving as required by law.
  • Orders, invoices, and accounting records: ten years from the end of the relevant financial year.
  • Messages and quote requests: for the time needed to respond, and then for no more than three years after the last contact unless a legal duty or dispute requires longer retention.
  • Marketing data: no more than three years after the last active contact, or until consent is withdrawn or you object.
  • Security logs: for a period proportionate to security needs, which may be up to twelve months unless an incident or legal duty requires longer retention.
  • Cookie choices: for an appropriate period; six months is used as the reference period before asking for your choice again.

At the end of these periods, data is deleted, anonymised, or placed in restricted archives when required by law or needed to defend legal rights.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use strictly necessary technologies for authentication, security, the shopping cart, payment, preferences, and remembering privacy choices. These technologies are required to provide the service you request.

Analytics, non-essential personalisation, or third-party technologies that require consent must not be used until you make a positive choice. Refusing must be as easy as accepting, and you must be able to withdraw consent at any time. A detailed list of the technologies in use is available in the Cookie Policy and the consent tool.

8. Security

Sound Highway uses technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the risks, including restricted administrative access, HTTPS encryption, updates, backups, access controls, security logging, and providers offering appropriate guarantees. No system can be completely secure, so these safeguards are reviewed as the risks and website evolve.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the legal basis used, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a portable copy of your personal data, and to object to certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.

To exercise a privacy right, email contact@soundhighway.com and describe your request. We may ask for proof of identity only where reasonably necessary to prevent disclosure to another person.

If the GDPR applies, you may also complain to the competent data-protection authority. In France, this is the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL). Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under local law.

10. Children

Sound Highway’s music sales and licensing services are not intended for children who do not have legal capacity to enter into a contract. If personal data has been submitted without appropriate authorisation, a parent or legal guardian may request its deletion.

11. Language and interpretation

This Privacy Policy is available in English and French. The English version is the reference version for interpretation. The French version is provided so that French-speaking users can easily understand how their data is used. Nothing in this clause limits any mandatory rights or protections granted by the law applicable to you; mandatory law prevails if a conflict cannot be resolved.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the website, our providers, or applicable law. The current version and its update date will appear on this page. We will provide appropriate notice of any material change.
